Sandra Bryant Biography

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1971, Sandra was raised by her beloved mother Geraldine Freeman, a single parent. In 1990 she graduated from high school and joined the U.S. Army a year later. After settling back in Corpus Christi, she attended Del Mar College while pursing a career in working with disadvantaged children at a residential treatment facility. Her academic focus was to receive a degree in criminal justice and psychology.

In 1998 faith would move her to Austin, Texas, and change her life forever. In 2003 she attended a conference held by T. D. Jakes in Houston called “Women Thou Art Loose.”  This experience not only altered her life but confirmed that she is called to make an impact on women’s lives. Oprah would call this “an ah ha moment” in which one learns that life is short and valued — when she realizes what she is called to do on earth.

Inspired to make a difference in the lives of women, whether young or old, Sandra decided to start a non-profit organization called “Sister II Sister” in 2003. The next year she hosted an event for women called “Me Time” sponsored by her company, Sister II Sister, to inspire women to take time out for themselves. She has discovered she can make a difference in the lives of others by giving back what life has taken from her.

Sandra’s passion keeps her plugged in and involved in numerous activities. Some of her accomplishments include reestablishing the Amberwood Social Committee (Chair) in 2004, being instrumental in starting the Parent Teacher Association at Science Hall Elementary (2005), and receiving acknowledgement by Margaret Spellings for her contribution to Hurricane Help for Schools by the Department of Education. Then in October 2005 she teamed up with her company, Sister II Sister, and a local church to sponsor families of the Community Action Development and Assistance program who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina.  Sandra loves children and in January 2007 & 2008 volunteered as a basketball coach for the Hays Youth Basketball Association in Kyle.

Today, she is a stay-at-home wife and mom and will go back to school in 2008 to obtain her degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Spanish. She lives in the Amberwood subdivision with her husband Ray Bryant and three children:  Jaque, Darius and Essence.

One of Sandra’s greatest goals that she set over a year ago has finally come to fruition. The “Ladies of Amberwood” is up and running. Her love for helping women continues to grow beyond measure. A large number of the women in the Amberwood neighborhood have participated or joined the organization with much enthusiasm. Sandra feels extremely confident in the direction this organization is going and sends a huge "THANK YOU" to all the ladies for their support. The VISION for the Ladies of Amberwood is about meeting and building friendships with women throughout the community, by interacting in the activities the group have throughout the year. The organizations PURPOSE is for women to take time out for themselves and have fun. I believe women wear many hats in life and this is just one of the many ways, I want to let them know they are appreciated.
